Exhibition of hotel equipment in Faliro .. EXPO HOTEL 21-23 NOV. 2015

The gymnasium of Paleo Faliro welcomes the well known to the hotel tourist public annual exhibition HOTEL EXPO 2015. The exhibition in the very past years was hosted in Piraeus (OLP). So we are very glad this year to see the hotel event in our neighborhood .
"On this occasion we want to emphasize that the Faliro is a region that is lost.. in the history. Poking a little the Internet archives, we found what some diligent students of nowadays have recorded many elements about. One of these is that the founder of Faliro was a local hero named "Faliros" grandson of the King of Athens Erechtheus and that the tradition says that he was a contemporary person of Theseus King of Athens and helped with the Lapiths in their war against the Centaurs.
The Faliros was one of the Argonauts, in the Argonautic expedition led by Jason (in 1226-1225 BC, and also in southern Italy founded a colony named initially Faliro. (Pausanias, Attica A, I, 4 - n Strabo, 246 - Stefanos Byzantium 656, svp).
Later they other Greeks are settled there from Kimi, Halkida, Pithickouses and Athens and named the city "PARTHENOPI", honoring thus one of the Sirens of Parthenope, which eventually was disappointed because Odysseus did not respond to her love, was thrown to the sea and her body washed ashore on that beach. There was the grave of that nymph.
As the town Parthenopi was constantly grewing, the oldest district named "PALAIOPOLIS" or "PALAIPOLIS" and the newest course named NEW TOWN or NEAPOLI which in Italian NAPOLI was so called to this day .. So from Faliro to Napoli..
Today Paleo Faliro is a beautiful densely populated suburb of Athens the "elbow" we would say of the hand of Athens. It is worthy to integrate it within a broader program of visiting in case of business or leisure.
