Piraeus: The more you travel, the more you learn to appreciate the places that you need to explore in order to get to know them. The walk through the streets, to meet people and cultures, to be pleasantly surprised by the monuments and various perspectives, to sample flavors and  listen to sounds that reveal a love for life.  Piraeus is a city as such. A Euro - Mediterranean crossroads of culture, trade and recreation. An ancient place with a modern outlook. A city which dreams and remembers its past at the same time. A magical city. Piraeus is much more than an international hub for tourism and trade. Its a destination. A destination for tourism that makes time fly. And its flies so fast, it always leaves you with the feeling that you need to spend some more time with it.  Mr. Panayiotis Fassoulas former Mayor of Piraeus.
