The Museum of Greek Popular Musical Instruments founded by musicologist Phoebus Anogeiannakis housed in the mansion of the chieftain Lassani (1842), in the Plaka district. The collection of 1,200 musical instruments are the richest in Greece and one of the most important of Europe and work life musicologist, who dedicated to this project 50 years of systematic personal work.  The museum houses the center ethnomusicological research and has rich specialized library.
