the budget hotel in athens
The Culture Center "Stavros Niarchos Foundation" (SNFCC) is completed.
The initiators of the project aimed this to be a "sustainable urban, multifunctional educational, cultural and entertainment of top quality centre
As we know the project was designed by Italian architect Renzo Piano and his company Piano Building Workshop (RPBW) and donated by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation to the Greek government, which soon will take over the operation.
The technical specifications of the project are unique, of advanced technology at all levels, huge solar panels for energy saving, high ductility, the most modern opera after that of Moscow and London since is manufactured by the same company (BBH) and its international partners.
Natural thyme and rosemary aromas bathe the visitor since the park gathered thousands of shrubs from all over Greece and shrubby have been transplanted in the park in order to designate one thoroughbred new Greek countryside at the edge of Athens.
The project simultaneously is communicating with many points (of time and place) of the history of the Attic landscape. First and foremost northern with Acropolis, east with the excavated Paleolithic cemetery, the ancient port of Faliro, southwest with Kastela (Acropolis) of Piraeus and theoretically with the long walls that connected Piraeus with Athena in the past.
