The tattoo art is at its height. The Nestorion hotel this year again hosted distinguished artists from Cyprus, England, Chile who presented their tattoo art in Greece and took part in the various stages of the competition. Countries that participated in the events were GERMANY, USA, CYPRUS, SOUTH KOREA, ITALY, SPAIN, UK, BULGARIA, SWIZERLAND, JAPAN, RUSSIA, DEMOCRACY OF SKOPIA, SWEEDEN, FRANCE, ALBANIA. These events were accompanied by a number of musical shows, it was the leading party in the May 14 Saturday where Dimitris Athanasiadis on the decks played unadulterated rock and roll, next to motorbikes who banged colors, designs and images. Food, drinks cocktails and beverages flowed abundantly until the early hours! Characteristic of the events was the arrival of tens of hundreds of new fans of tattoos and related culture.

Here is an extract of the story telling of the event of the Tattoo Convention.

"The art of tattooing is one of the oldest art forms in history and has existed since the Stone Age. People from different cultures around the world" paint "their bodies for over 5000 years either as part of religious rituals, either as status symbols, or simply for aesthetic reasons.
For example, Moche culture, who ruled many parts of the Andes around 500 BC, used tattoos to indicate leadership.
The art of tattooing was even tribal culture American Indians, with tattoos often serve religious purposes, or are "medals" winning wars.
The Inuit use tattoos for aesthetic reasons, and also because they believed that it would offer them a peaceful life after death. The markings were made with a needle and thread, which was passed by soot. Then they passed under the skin following a particular pattern.
Likewise the men of the tribe Cree used to do tattoos in the whole body, while women had elaborate decorations from the middle of the chest to the pelvis, as "shields" to have a safe pregnancy.
On the Pacific coast, the tribe of Maidu used tattoos for beauty reasons".
